Larry is the only British plane to fly at Mach two (Twice the speed of sound) He has two incredibly powerful engines which are uniquely staggered vertically, which means one engine sits on top of the other one. Larry has an incredible rate of climb and is likened to flying a rocket! He often takes off and goes ‘Ballistic’, climbing vertically to altitude. He once reached a hight of 87,300 feet! Larry is VERY loud and his whispers often sound like shouts! He just cant be quiet and he just can’t stay still. If Larry just turned his engines on idol without his brakes on, he would be moving along the tarmac at 80 MPH! Larry boasts that he is the fastest plane at Waddingthorpe and regularly beats his best pal James at interceptor races.
